Oh my lanta that was amazing. I literally cannot even process my feelings right now. What even is life. Dude. *Currently reveling in the after effects of the awesomeness that was Flash vs. Arrow: Part 1* Ugh, my heart. I'm just too happy at the moment.
I don't even know where to start. After Oliver showed up, it was literally greatness from start to finish. Joe and Dr. Wells called Barry in like they were about to put him in time out which was pretty hilarious. After witnessing Barry's speed, Diggle looked like he just saw a dead person come back to life. Indeed, also pretty hilarious. This episode was just chock full of laugh out louds.
"Do you think he does everything fast? How long do you think it takes for him to go to the bathroom after he eats something?" - John Diggle
Oliver: We can talk about your silly codenames later.
Barry: You mean like over coffee? With Deathstroke and Huntress?
Aside from the usual plot revelations, everyone in Star Labs, as well as Joe, now know that Oliver Queen = The Arrow. Apparently Dr. Wells does not comprehend the definition of the word secret. After asking Felicity to reveal Olly's secret and not receiving the answer he foolishly hoped for, he felt perfectly compelled to become Sherlock Holmes, find out who The Arrow really is and proceeded to blurt it out in front the whole Star Labs crew because yea...we're doing that now. I'm hoping and bluntly assuming that none of them are going to give up his identity.
Dude. With regards to the showdown...it was a tie! Although I am still quite curious as to who would win, I like the result better this way. When I first heard about the crossover, I thought What would cause Flash and Arrow to battle it out with each other? My nerves went on alert because they're not supposed to be enemies. Then I saw the trailer and my soul was relieved to see that they simply wanted to find out who would win in a fight. Alas, of course, I was once again mistaken. It was no play fight. Barry got "whammed" by Ray Bivolo, Rainbow Raider (get a load of that name), a metahuman that can change the emotions of others by flashing a light frequency into their eyes. As a result, he became extremely angry and lashed out at everyone, especially Oliver. He really ripped him a new one before, you know, trying to physically rip him apart as well. Just as I said though, both Arrow and Flash were holding down their own in this fight and what an epic fight that was! Flash was such as boss. Honestly, if you don't plan on watching either of these shows at all, just watch this one episode. That's all I ask and it would be so worth it because who does not love a good fight, be honest with yourselves.
Also while Flash was under the influence, he attacked Eddie and now Eddie is set on arresting him. Iris seems to be backing him up, much to Barry's dismay. This is where Eddie starts despising Flash and they are most likely going to face off one day.
The collaboration worked out really well in my opinion. Producers said there is not going to be another one for a while but I am already anticipating its arrival. Barry and Oliver have an adorable friendship which was solidified in this episode. Oliver took it upon himself to coach Barry in the ways of vigilantism and supposedly they took down Rainbow Raider. I only say supposedly because my television decided to skip. I do not know how or why but I have no idea how they managed to overcome him or if that scene was even in the show. I am upset but I'll just have to watch it again to confirm. Not that that's a bad thing. :)
Towards the end of the episode, the girl Oliver impregnated a while back appeared in Central City. She seems harmless but it's obvious we are going to meet Oliver's child soon.
Final Scene: FIRESTORM! ASDFGHJKL;! I've been waiting for this ever since the Captain Cold episode. Bonus: He's played by Stephen Amell 's (Arrow) cousin. Everything is perfect.
See you tomorrow for Part 2!
Update: So it was not my TV's fault. The episode actually did not show the defeat and capture of Rainbow Raider which makes me even more upset. Why didn't they think that was necessary to actually see Flash and Arrow fighting together. This collaboration was hardly a collab at all. All Oliver did was give Barry a name and they did not do anything together after that except fight each other. Kind of disappointed.
Oh my lanta this was amazing!!!
